Farm tourism

The recent adventure in Greece made me think about farm tourism. maybe it would not be the best idea for a romantic trip, but on the other hand why not? Constantly living in the hustle and bustle of city life I think that some change from time to time could do no harm. Besides a bit of quietude in the middle of nowhere once in a while cannot be a bad thing. I think I am going to give it a try once I tackle with all my business errands. But I still don’t know where to go. Despite the popular view not all farms are alike and I think that I could not go to a place without certain living standard so I will make a research and try to find something on a certain level and then go and give it a try.

Greece for St Valentine’s Day – part 2

It turned out that going to Greece for Saint Valentine’s day was not as good idea as I expected. There were many tourists and the weather was unpredictable, so it could have been better, but all in all it could have been a lot worse as well. A few days after we left Greece there were terrible snowstorms there so it can be said that we were really lucky. Apart from the anomalies everything else was great: kind people, interesting places, many opportunities to relax and brilliant atmosphere. In general, I think it was a successful trip and for sure a lot better that it would have been if we had gone to overcrowded Paris.

 Greece for St Valentine’s Day

It is the middle of February and so you would probably like to take your lady for an unusual date some time around St Valentine’s Day. The most obvious choice is of course Paris with its many atmospheric cafes, nice people and beautiful views. But isn’t it all a bit too trite? Just think how many couples there are in Paris itself and how many more will come to have a ‘special’ evening on the 14th of February? Wouldn’t it be better to go somewhere else where there is at least a slight possibility of smaller crowds and better weather? After all it’s winter in February in France. So why not go to let’s say Athens? It is equally pleasant place, a lot more warmer and you should not have difficulties organizing a romantic evening for two. And with all the people going to Paris there should be less crowds in Athens. And I guess that no lady would complain at a surprise trip to Greece.

 New tourism

Tourism is a relatively new phenomenon which seems so obvious in the XXIst century. With the technological advances it seems that the world is shrinking… And going from USA to Europe doesn’t last a week anymore but just a few hours. Nobody is surprised to hear from a friend that he has just come back from a ‘distant’ or exotic country. We all like to take a break from our mundane daily lives from time to time and relax in a different climate, that’s perfectly normal.

But the fact is that local people who make living on tourists tend to inflate their usual rates for what they see as easy prey especially if they hear you speak a foreign language and especially if you came in high season. It happens practically in every part of the world although it is not really a good recommendation for the place, is it? That is why it is better to know where to go and when the season starts to avoid unnecessary costs. Moreover, with a bit of knowledge you might find a cheaper hotel of good standard, find unclogged routes, as well as find an atmospheric place to it in. if you are interested in finding reliable information on CHEAP, QUALITY HOTELS, information about HOLIDAY SEASONS, and interesting TOURIST DESTINATION in various countries I recommend reading this blog.
